Impact supported the New York State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s AIDS Institute in the development of its PrEP Aware Week 2021 campaign. We worked with the AIDS Institute and eight New York state-based collaborative agencies to refresh the PrEP Aware Week logo, theme, and messaging. The 2021 campaign featured community sentiments regarding the use of PrEP for HIV prevention and highlighted the myriad personal motivations for choosing to take PrEP. Impact led the development of PrEP Aware Week campaign collateral including videos and photos featuring community members, logos for campaign “swag,” and a social media toolkit. The campaign generated awareness and knowledge of PrEP for HIV prevention through culturally relevant messages tailored to individuals at elevated risk for HIV.
