Advancing Leadership in Public Health Social Work

Despite an increased need for multidisciplinary professionals with both social work and public health backgrounds, to date, no one had studied the uniformity or common core characteristics between dual degree programs across the United States. The Advancing Leadership in Public Health Social Work Project was a one-year research project funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Bureau of Health Workforce and administered by Boston University. Impact was engaged in the project to help elevate research findings and design

toolkits, assessments, handbooks, and other associated products that could be used by social work educators and practitioners as a way to address gaps, increase knowledge, and advance the field. The materials were disseminated nationally online, across schools of higher education, and the federal government.
