Sonya Khan
Senior Communications Specialist

Sonya Khan comes to Impact Marketing + Communications as a Senior Communications Specialist with extensive experience in health communications and strategic marketing to reach priority populations, with particular emphasis on sexually transmitted infections (STI) prevention in local and state health departments.

Sonya has served as a disease intervention (DI) professional directly supporting patients, communities, and providers to improve sexual health outcomes and emphasize closing gaps in health equity. As a subject matter expert with the National Coalition of STD Directors, she provided technical assistance to local and state STI/HIV clinics and programs in service delivery. At the University of Washington and Harborview Medical Center's Sexual Health Clinic in Seattle, she led and trained staff to connect individuals with testing, treatment, pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), needle exchange services, and low-barrier clinics for people with HIV.

Sonya’s accomplishments include supporting workforce engagement, implementation of data-driven community outreach testing to address disparities, crafting graphics and health education materials to promote area clinics and services, supporting development of statewide campaigns focused on Black and Latino MSM and campaign materials and implementation toolkits for healthcare providers. Sonya works closely with federal partners, national prevention organizations, academic institutions, and local health departments.

BRANDING

Branding is all about creating relationships. This means audiences need to know who you are, what you do, where to find you, how you’re different, and why they should choose you.

It includes a system: mission statement, brand promise, identity (name, logo, tagline, typeface) visual system, values, presence, and personality. An effective brand should stand out in a crowded marketplace, build equity, and always deliver on its brand promise.

Impact supports every aspect of branding, from exploration, branding retreats, audits of brand assets, brand strategy and positioning, brand development, mood boarding, brand personas, branded collateral, training of brand ambassadors, and brand management. Impact also supports brand personality and brand experience exploration—two of the most frequently overlooked but critical aspects of branding that ensures who organizations say they are aligns with who and how audiences experience them to be.
